Parent Center
The Parent Center is a weekly playgroup for children aged 3 to 5 years, along with their parents or caretakers. This program is designed to help Cheshire families connect and discuss any questions or concerns they may have regarding their child’s development during these crucial early years.
It’s a wonderful opportunity for you and your child to play together in a supportive, child-centered environment while meeting other families with young children. Available staff may include early childhood educators, special education and kindergarten teachers, a speech and language pathologist, occupational and physical therapists, a school psychologist, and a registered nurse.
The Parent Center provides a space for families who have specific concerns about their child’s development or have been referred by doctors or other professionals. Initially, there may be a screening, which can lead to a more formal evaluation if needed. This evaluation helps determine if specialized intervention is necessary.
The Parent Center meets every Friday at 10:00 AM during the school year at Barnum Elementary School.
