Welcome to Highland School

Thank you for visiting the Highland Elementary School website! Highland Elementary School, in Cheshire, Connecticut, is a dynamic and exciting place to work or to go to school. Over 110 staff members and approximately 800 students, grades 1-6, share learning experiences and extra-curricular activities that encourage cooperation, communication, and collaboration. Our talented and dedicated teachers and support staff work with the parents and community to provide a positive, safe, nurturing, and fun environment that contributes to student success. We strive to create a community based on mutual respect in which all students become responsible citizens.

We offer students a strong academic program that encompasses First through Sixth grade. In addition, we have professional educators who teach and enhance learning in general music, instrumental music (grades five and six only), physical education, art, and library skills. We also have highly trained literacy coaches.

The Highland School Parent Teacher Organization provides so many wonderful events for our student over the course of the year. Parents and guardians are encouraged to join this organization and attend PTO meetings.

So, enjoy our website, and contact us through e-mail if you want to know more about us or if you want to tell us about your school.

In order for the Language Arts review committee to evaluate the effectiveness of our program, we would appreciate your comments and feedback based on your observations, conclusions, and conversations with your child about his or her experiences. Please click the link above to take our survey. Thank you.
