TEACHING AND LEARNING I

• In order to increase student achievement in reading comprehension and vocabulary development, teachers will identify and apply specific instructional practices during mini-lessons and interactive read-alouds and frequently analyze student progress to maintain continual challenge at each child’s instructional level.

TEACHING AND LEARNING II

• In order for Doolittle School teachers to acknowledge the national, research-based Response to Intervention (RtI) plan in effect as of July 1, 2009, teachers and administrators will implement the Cheshire Public Schools' district Scientifically Researched Based Instruction (SRBI) plan.

COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION I

• In order to continue building our Doolittle School RESPECT theme, teachers will emphasize the CPS Performance Standards while investigating the guiding principles of Responsive Classroom to help students improve academic and social-emotional competencies.

COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION II

• In order to enhance the Cheshire science curriculum, improve student learning, and house science equipment and supplies, Doolittle School will provide a dedicated space for science instruction for grades 5 and 6.
