Historical Information

Bertram Dodd

Dodd Junior High School was named after Bertram Dodd, the first principal of Humiston School.  Mr. Dodd served as principal from the time Humiston School was opened in 1912 until 1943.  The doors of Dodd were opened to limited classes in January of 1959 and the first complete school year was 1959-60.  Throughout history Dodd has seen several additions and even a change in name.  On July 1, 1995 the name was officially changed to Dodd Middle School to reflect a commitment to supporting the young adolescent academically, socially and personally.
