"We should acknowledge differences,we should greet differences, until difference makes no difference anymore."   -- Adela A. Allen

Cheshire offers a team of caring professionals who provide a continuum of services and support through the implementation of responsible inclusive practices to insure the successful learning of all children. In addition to a core of certified special education teachers and educational diagnosticians, there is a wide range of support service personnel, including psychologists, guidance counselors, speech and language pathologists, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and instructional assistants at each school. The services of a Certified Behavior Analyst as well as an Assistive Technology Consultant are available on a referral basis. A child's individual education plan is designed by the planning and placement team, which includes the special education staff, general education staff, support staff, and parents. Once the goals and objectives are established, each school offers the accommodations, modifications, specialized instruction and support services necessary to insure that progress is made in meeting the goals and objectives of the Individual Education Plan.
