|School Psychologists provide a myriad of services in each of the Cheshire schools. They have specialized training in psychology and education which allows them to administer individual psycho-educational evaluations, develop specialized programs based on a student's strengths, and evaluate a student's educational program. They also provide individual and group counseling for the special education population and develop and facilitate special focus groups for the schools at large.
Psychologists provide consultation and collaborative services with teachers and administrators and, when appropriate, outside agencies and mental health professionals. They work closely with parents in establishing the important school/home connection.
The school psychologist is an active member of each school's Response to Intervention Team, which is an early intervention program. The psychologist also serves as a member of each school's Crisis Intervention Team.
