All Connecticut school districts will administer the Grade 5, 8, and 10 CMT or CAPT science assessment during the month of March.  In the Cheshire Public Schools, we use information from these assessments to plan science curriculum revisions, identify resource needs, and to offer related professional development for teachers.  In Cheshire, this assessment will be administered on March 2 (for Grade 5) and March 16 (for Grade 8 and Grade 10).  As in past years, this will be a paper-pencil assessment that measures student understanding of the earth, life, and physical science standards, concepts, and skills taught in Grade 3-5 science (Grade 5 test), Grade 6-8 science (Grade 8 test), or Grade 9-10 science (Grade 10 test).  Individual student test results will be sent to parents in the early fall of 2016.  Please contact your building principal or the district's Curriculum Office at 203-250-2439 with any questions regarding this upcoming assessment.
