Welcome to Cheshire High School
Cheshire High School is located in Cheshire, Connecticut, fifteen miles north of New Haven and twenty-five miles south of Hartford. Cheshire High School is a comprehensive high school serving approximately 1,600 students and their families. As a comprehensive high school, CHS offers a range of programs to meet the academic and personal needs of the students. CHS and the community are committed to working together to prepare students to become productive adults. The mission of the Cheshire High School learning community is the enhancement of student understanding. For understanding to be achieved, teachers will guide students to shape information into knowledge and knowledge into understanding. This understanding is pursued to enable all students to become complex adult thinkers, workers, community contributors.

The Cheshire Public School System is approaching its 10-year anniversary of the implementation of our strategic plan and we need your help as we prepare to evaluate our current plan and develop future long-term planning goals. To gather this information, we have developed a community-wide web-based survey that should take about 15 - 20 minutes to complete and is designed to gather community stakeholders’ views. We are hoping to determine if parents, teachers, and community members believe the Cheshire Public Schools’ current mission statement, core beliefs and vision are still valid, and whether these documents continue to reflect our shared aspiration of the future for our schools.
